Our research found that bamboo is the most sustainable fibre for your clothes, growing up to three feet per day and drinking three times less water than cotton. Known for its breathability, UV-resistance and hypoallergenic qualities, bamboo fabric also draws moisture away from your body, making it a great choice for activewear. Our particular fabric is called Tanboocel, which is a completely biodegradable fibre made from bamboo pulp. Tanboocel holds antimicrobial and deodorising properties - this is thanks to a natural, bacteriostatic component in the bamboo plant called kun, which makes the fibre resistant to bacterial and fungal growth.

After two years of careful research, we chose to have our garments produced at a location in China that aligns with our core environmental values and sustainability goals. With the Forest Stewardship Council’s (FSC) certification, we are assured that there was no natural habitat loss or destruction in the making of our garments, and that our bamboo comes from FSC-certified forests that follow their best-defined practices in both the production and supply of garments. Lete is also committed to upholding the Business Social Compliance Initiative’s (BSCI) Code of Conduct, meaning that the working conditions and rights for workers are of the utmost importance to us at every step of our supply chain.

Wash your garments inside out for a longer life. Use cool water with an eco-friendly washing detergent (or try soap berries!). Dry in the shade, or if you’re in a hurry tumble dry on a cool setting. Iron on a low setting. For pilling, remove with a fabric shaver, or stretch the fabric over a curved surface and carefully cut the pilling away with scissors or shave off with a razor.

Another amazing quality of bamboo? If your clothes get wrinkled, just put them on and the heat from your body will iron them out!

Through our foundation, LETE Connect and Protect, for every item we sell $2.50 from that sale goes towards buying back rainforest. Our partners at HalfCut will then match it dollar for dollar, meaning that every item purchased will give $5 towards buying rainforest. Did you know that five dollars can buy up to two acres of rainforest? The forest is then given to the World Heritage Trust, which means it can never be cut down.

Our founders, Dan and Paulina, take their eco warrior status pretty seriously and made the switch to a plant based diet on the 1st of January, 2020, to cut out 85% of their carbon footprint. Their goal is to make LETE a carbon negative company.

If, however, you are not satisfied with your purchased product, or it does not perform to your satisfaction, you may return it to us within 30 days for an exchange or refund.

You may return or exchange any full price item within 30 days of purchase, provided the item is unused, unwashed, still tagged and in its original condition and packaging. To begin processing your return or exchange, please fill in the form below. Exchanges will be sent as soon as the original item is received. Items that were purchased on sale may be exchanged but not refunded. If you do not wish to do an exchange for any item(s) purchased on sale, we are happy to offer you an online credit upon receipt of your returned item(s). The cost of returning the item(s) by post is at the expense of the customer, except in the case of a faulty item. If an item has an unrepairable manufacturing fault or arrives damaged, we are happy to replace it or offer a refund if replacement is not possible.
